Overview
Nusku is a Bristol-based technology start-up developing revolutionary new heat pump technology to change how UK homes are heated. The team brings together engineering and product development experience from across the green energy sector to bring their heat pump technology to market.
The challenge
As Nusku has expanded so have their technology requirements. Internal IT support and projects were taking up time and detracting from the company's mission. Without a centralised platform, device management was cumbersome. It was time to bring onboard a technology partner that understands the pace and needs of an engineering start-up, ensuring security and management were covered.
What we did
- Enrolled the full device fleet into Microsoft Intune for centralised management
- Enforced security compliance policies and configuration to minimise threat exposure
- Deployed Mobile Application Management (MAM) for personal mobile devices, protecting company data without requiring full device enrolment
- Rolled out Microsoft Defender for Business EDR across all endpoints for centralised threat protection and monitoring
- Provide a flexible ongoing managed service so the team can be confident devices and security are covered as they continue to grow
- Set up a facility for staff to securely access remote data logging devices with their 365 identities
- Built out cloud infrastructure to securely host internal applications, accessible only by staff devices, from any location
The outcome
- Devices across the business are managed centrally
- Product designs, source code and test data are protected by compliance policies and endpoint security
- Engineers and developers can keep working as normal, with no disruption to devices or workflow
- Patching and security actively maintained
- Nusku has a foundation that scales with the business as the team and device fleet grow
